Environmental Processes III - Solid Waste and Waste Gas Treatment, Drinking Water Preparation

Volume editor: Jürgen Klein, Josef Winter

Volume 11c presents an overview of solid waste management, off-gas treatment procedures, and drinking water preparation techniques that are well established or have been developed recently. Modern methods of solid waste management must, except for biotechnological alternatives, deal with the different incineration techniques for which experience is available or which are in an experimental or pilot-scale stage. Off-gas purification is recognized as an esssential part of production and waste or wastewater treatment processes, and many different methods of waste gas purification can be applied today. This book outlines the basic biological and biotechnologiocal requirements. Last but not least, part of the volume is dedicated to drinking water preparation - a topic of great present and future importance for developed and developing countries.
