2007 has been a very special year for us

Firstly - on the occasion of Wiley's bicentennial - we had the opportunity to look back together with the 6th and 7th generations of the Wiley family and reflect upon our roots and the history of publishing.

The first German textbook - Wiley's legendary Halliday - has been available via WileyPLUS for a few weeks now to help teachers to teach and students to learn. More are on their way.

"Peer Review" is one of the 6000 Blackwell books; many of them go online soon via WileyInterScience together with many more from Wiley and Wiley-VCH.

2007 was also Mendeleev's year

We published international versions of our well-known posters like "The Periodic Table Through History" and the accompanying book "World of the Elements" (targeted to all those having an interest in knowing about the elements that are the basic toolkit of our world).

2007 continued to bring awards and special moments to celebrate our authors and editors

    Gerhard Ertl won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. He published his first book with us in 1974 and the new 8-volume masterpiece edited by him and his colleagues Knözinger, Weitkamp, and Schüth is soon to be published.

The German edition of Angewandte Chemie was recently awarded the "Institutionen-Kulturpreis für Deutsche Sprache" in Kassel.

Special moments for the DFG programme

The commission editing the MAK Collection for Occupational Health and Safety (the standard for maximum concentrations at the workplace) celebrated its 50th anniversary and Wiley-VCH has been the publisher for the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) for the last 25 years!
