When Axel Kleemann (formerly ASTA Medica) retired from the Editorial Board of Angewandte, a seat became available. Following an invitation of the Board of the German Chemical Society (GDCh), Hartmut Wiezer will succeed him. Wiezer received his doctorate in 1974 from the University of Göttingen (Germany) in the group of H.-W. Roesky. His thesis deals with organometallic–inorganic heterocyclic compounds. In the following year, he started to work for Hoechst on polymer additives. When the specialty chemicals division was taken over by Clariant in 1997, he was the head of the fine-chemicals division. He has overseen research and development at Clariant since 2000. |
