Chiara Maccato obtained her PhD degree in Chemical Sciences in 1999 at Padova University, Italy. She is currently Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry for students in Molecular Biology and Environmental Sciences at Padova University. Her research activity is focused on the synthesis and characterization of multi-functional hybrid/inorganic nanosystems. Accordingly, she has been responsible for several research projects/industrial contracts. Since 2005 she is the coordinator of a morphological characterization laboratory and responsible for a research group on multi-functional inorganic nanomaterials.
Davide Barreca received his PhD in Chemical Sciences at Padova University, Italy in 2000. Since 2001, he is a Senior Research Scientist at CNR-ICMATE and Contract Professor at Padova University. For his activity on multi-functional inorganic nanosystems, documented by > 290 papers (H-index = 48), he received various awards, such as the Vincenzo Caglioti-Accademia dei Lincei Prize (2008) and the SAPIO Junior Prize (2010). He was local coordinator in national/EU projects, and is member of the International EUROCVD Board and European Editor of Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
