Summary and Outlook
Volkhard Helms has been a full professor for bioinformatics at Saarland University since 2003. He received a Ph.D. for research done at EMBL Heidelberg, did post-doctoral work at UC San Diego, and subsequently was an independent group leader at the Max Planck Institute of Biophysics in Frankfurt. Professor Helms has authored about 200 scientific publications. In 2000, he was named an EMBO Young Investigator.

Olga Kalinina is a professor for drug bioinformatics at the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland since 2019. She received a Ph.D. from the Engelhardt Institute for Molecular Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2007, did post-doctoral work at EMBL Heidelberg and University of Heidelberg (2007-2011) and subsequently was a group leader at the MPI for informatics in Saarbrücken (2012-2018). Prof. Kalinina has authored over 40 scientific publications.
