For more information on data protection at Google, please visit: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy, Google's data collection and use statement at https://privacy.google.com/intl/de/your-data.html and https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

1. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If IP anonymization is activated on this website, however, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity, and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by rejecting the use of Google Analytics in the Cookie Consent Tool. For more information on terms of use and data protection, please visit http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html (or https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/). We would like to point out that on this website Google Analytics has been extended by the code "anonymizeIp" to ensure anonymized collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking).
The legal basis for the processing is your consent according to Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR.

2. Google Tag Manager

To integrate and manage the described services of Google and possibly other services of other providers listed here, we can use the "Google Tag Manager". The Google Tag Manager merely implements and manages tags; this service itself does not set any further cookies or collect any personal data.

3. Use of Google Ads

We use the online advertising program "Google Ads" on our website and in this context conversion tracking (visit action evaluation). Google conversion tracking is an analysis service provided by Google (for users within the EU: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House Barrow St, Dublin 4, Ireland; otherwise: Google LLC 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). Please note that Google may use personal data that you have provided for this purpose, e.g. if you are logged into your Google account, have activated your location (GPS) and allow Google to access it, or are using an Android device. Google does not share this data with us. When you click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie for conversion tracking is placed on your computer. These cookies have a limited validity (usually up to 30 days), do not contain any personal data and are therefore not used for personal identification. If you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that you clicked on the ad and were redirected to this page. Because each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie, there is no way that cookies can be tracked across Ads customers' websites.
The information obtained with the help of the conversion cookie is used for the purpose of creating conversion statistics. Here, we learn the total number of users who clicked on one of our ads and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. In this context, we neither receive nor process information with which users can be personally identified.
The data processing is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) a) DSGVO. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.
To do this, you can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate technical settings on your browser. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. In addition, you can deactivate personalized advertising for you in Google's advertising settings. You can find instructions on how to do this at https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922?hl=de. Further information as well as Google's privacy policy can be found at: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/

4. YouTube

On our website we use the plug-in of the service YouTube, which belongs to Google (for users within the EU: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House Barrow St, Dublin 4, Ireland; otherwise: Google LLC 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA).

The plug-in from YouTube is recognizable on our site. When you click on the plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection with the YouTube servers via a cookie. The YouTube server thus receives information about which page of our website you have visited.
In other places on our website, there is only a clickable link to a YouTube video. When you click on it, the video opens in a new tab on the YouTube page, where Google's privacy policy applies (see below).

If you are logged into your YouTube account or other Google account, you would enable YouTube or Google by clicking on the link to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. Google also uses the data for personalized advertising, to customize its services and for market research. You can prevent this possibility of allocation if you log out of your account beforehand. You can also turn off personalized advertising in the settings in your Google account or on your Android device. For more information on this and to object to Google's use of data, see the privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de&gl=de. You can also find information on data protection at Google in Google's statement on the collection and use of data at https://privacy.google.com/intl/de/your-data.html and at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

This is used by the respective social networks to offer their information services and advertising in a targeted manner (personalization). The respective social network can assign this data to your person.
If you do not have an account with the respective social network, the cookie placement will in any case collect your IP address, information about your device, the region or, if applicable, the more precise location where you use it, call time and dwell time, as well as estimate the above-mentioned demographic data based on your surfing behavior.
You can prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of our company site (including your IP address) to the respective social network as well as the processing of this data by the respective social network by adjusting your cookie settings before calling up our company site on the social networks. In addition, you can activate the "do not track" function in your browser, disable script code executions in your browser or use a so-called script blocker.

XIV. Use of the "IVW online" tool for measuring reach

Wiley-VCH uses the measurement procedure ("SZMnG") of INFOnline GmbH (https://www.INFOnline.de/) on its website to determine statistical characteristic values about the use of our offerings. The aim of usage measurement is to statistically determine the number of visits to our website, the number of visitors to the website and their surfing behavior - based on a uniform standard procedure - and thus to obtain values that are comparable across the market.
For all digital offerings that are members of the Informationsgemeinschaft zur Feststellung der Verbreitung von Werbeträgern e.V. (IVW – http://www.ivw.eu) or participate in the studies of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Online-Forschung e.V. (AGOF - http://www.agof.de), the usage statistics are regularly compiled by AGOF and the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Media-Analyse e.V. (agma - http://www.agma-mmc.de) into reach figures and published with the performance value "Unique User" and by IVW with the performance values "Page Impression" and "Visits". These reach figures and statistics can be viewed on the respective websites.

1. Legal basis for processing

Measurement by means of the SZMnG measurement method by INFOnline GmbH is carried out with a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR.
The purpose of the processing of personal data is the creation of statistics and the formation of user categories. The statistics serve to be able to track and document the use of our offer. The user categories form the basis for an interest-based targeting of advertising media or advertising measures. For the marketing of this website, it is essential to measure usage, which ensures comparability with other market participants. Our legitimate interest results from the economic usability of the findings resulting from the statistics and user categories and the market value of our website - also in direct comparison with third-party websites - which can be determined based on the statistics.
In addition, we have a legitimate interest in making the pseudonymized data available to INFOnline, AGOF and IVW for the purpose of market research (AGOF, agma) and for statistical purposes (INFOnline, IVW). Furthermore, we have a legitimate interest in making the pseudonymized data available to INFOnline for the further development and provision of interest-based advertising media.

2. Nature of the Data

INFOnline GmbH collects the following data which, according to GDPR, have a personal reference:

a) IP address: On the Internet, every device requires a unique address, the so-called IP address, in order to transmit data. The storage of the IP address, at least for a short period of time, is technically necessary due to the way the Internet works. The IP addresses are shortened by 1 byte before any processing and are only processed anonymously. No storage or further processing of the untruncated IP addresses takes place.

b) A randomly generated client identifier: Range processing alternatively uses either a cookie with the identifier "ioam.de", a "Local Storage Object" or a signature created from various automatically transmitted information from your browser to recognize computer systems. This identifier is unique for a browser as long as the cookie or local storage object is not deleted. Measurement of the data and subsequent assignment to the respective client identifier is therefore also possible if you call up other websites that also use the measurement procedure ("SZMnG") of INFOnline GmbH.

The validity of the cookie is limited to a maximum of 1 year.

In addition, the measured data is used as follows:

a) A so-called geolocation, i.e. the assignment of a website call to the location of the call, is carried out exclusively on the basis of the anonymized IP address and only up to the geographical level of the federal states / regions. Under no circumstances can conclusions be drawn about the specific location of a user from the geographical information obtained in this way.

b) The usage data of a technical client (e.g., a browser on a device) is aggregated across websites and stored in a database. This information is used for the technical estimation of the socio-information age and gender and transferred to AGOF's service providers for further coverage processing. Within the scope of the AGOF study, socio characteristics are technically estimated based on a random sample, which can be assigned to the following categories: Age, gender, nationality, occupation, marital status, general household information, household income, place of residence, Internet usage, online interests, place of use, user type.

4. Storage period of the data

The complete IP address is not stored by INFOnline GmbH. The shortened IP address is stored for a maximum of 60 days. The usage data in connection with the unique identifier will be stored for a maximum of 6 months.

5. Disclosure of data

The IP address as well as the shortened IP address will not be passed on. For the preparation of the AGOF study, data with client identifiers are passed on to the following AGOF service providers:

6. Right of objection

If you do not wish to participate in the measurement, you can object under the following link: https://optout.ioam.de. If you delete the cookies in your browser, it is necessary to repeat the opt-out process using the above link.
