Short description
Introduction to Numerical Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations Using MATLAB provides a thorough introduction to the various aspects of numerically solving problems involving differential equations, both partial (PDEs) and ordinary (ODEs). The text incorporates the MATLAB (MATrix LABoratory) system of instruction since MATLAB is ideally suited for computations involving matrices. Largely self-contained, the book brings together all the techniques necessary for a clear and comprehensive understanding of differential equations. There are three parts: MATLAB and numerical preliminaries; ordinary differential equations; and partial differential equations. When multivariable content is introduced, it is presented at the end of the relevant chapter so as not to disturb continuity.
