The [(iPrMe₂Si)₂C=P]₂NSiMe₃ (4a) is an excellent precursor for binuclear Au^I and Rh^I complexes of the P,P'-coordinated imidobis(phosphaalkene) anion [(iPrMe₂Si)₂C=P]₂N^-, the first case of elusive P=C-unsaturated congeners of the ''classic'' bis(phosphanyl)amide ligands.
