Peter Wilhelm studied chemistry at Karl-Franzens University Graz and worked on his doctoral thesis at the Institute for Physical Chemistry with Prof. Dr. Ingrid Pilz (working on small angle X-ray scattering of biological macromolecules). Since 1986 he is head of the working group on IR and Raman microscopy at the Institute for Electron Microscopy of the Graz University of Technology.
