Tongshuang Li is a distinguished researcher in synthetic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry with over 22 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and 12 years in academia. After he earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from Lanzhou University (China) in 1989, he became a lecturer of organic chemistry at the same institution. His academic career also includes a professorship at Hebei University (China) and postdoctoral fellowships at Laval University (Canada), and the University of Bristol (UK). He then moved to industry, where he held prominent positions, including Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Fochon Pharma Inc. (USA) for almost 10 years. Currently, he is a senior scientist at WuXi AppTec (USA). Dr. Li?s work primarily focuses on the synthesis of target compounds for drug discovery, where he has successfully synthesized over 1,000 compounds, with two currently in the new drug application stage in China. His expertise extends to reaction mechanisms, where he has advanced the understanding of complex organic reactions. He has published over 100 articles in international journals and holds more than 20 approved patents.
