Consisting of four volumes, the Handbook of Reagents includes over 500 reagents selected from the Encyclopedia of Reagents for Organic Synthesis. Each volume is self-contained and focuses on a different class of reagents, chemical substances useful for producing a chemical reaction. This current volume outlines acidic and basic reagents. Detailed physical and chemical data is provided so the reader will understand the exact use for a reagent and work with it properly. Adopting the basic format and size of the original Encyclopedia, each volume contains an introduction, an alphabetical arrangement of reagents as well as author and subject indexes.
