Mining Report richtet sich als die führende technisch-wissenschaftliche Fachzeitschrift an Entscheidungsträger aus dem Bergbau, der Bergbaumaschinen-Industrie und den Bergverwaltungen. Sie ist das Medium in Behörden, Kommunen, Forschungs- und Prüfungseinrichtungen sowie in Universitäten.
Die traditionsreiche Fachzeitschrift wurde im Januar 2015 an den Gesamtverband Steinkohle e. V. (GVSt), Herne, übergeben, der sie nun in Eigenregie verlegen wird.
